Jeppe High School for Boys

JEPPE HIGH SCHOOL FOR BOYS The school was founded by the Anglican church as St MichaelÕs Collage in 1890 in Fairview. It closed for the Anglo Boer War and re-opened as one of the new prestigious Milner public schools in 1903. Designed by John Ralston of the Transvaal Public Works Department, construction commenced in 1906 with occupation in 1911. The elegant symmetrical front faade and the stone construction create the buildings striking memorability. The main building, war memorial, and school gates were declared National Monuments in 1986, and now hold the status of Provincial Heritage Sites.
