JAN CILLIERS Laershool en Preprir Op 16 Januarie 1935 open die Noordelike Voorstelskool sy deure in die Vrymesselaarsaal te Parktown Noord. Binne die eerste bestaansjaar varander die school se naam na Jan Cilliersskool. Die skool is na die volkslied digter Jan Cilliers, wie se lifde vir kinder suit talle van sy gedigte blyk, vernoem. Die huidige terrain is op 2 Augustus 1938 in gebruik geneem. Die gebou met sy Kaaps-Hollandse boustyl en pragtige Constantia-gewel is deur die argitek, W.H. Spicer ontwerp.

A culmination of research gathered over many years, the Online Johannesburg Heritage Register is being launched on Nelson Mandela Day 18 July 2025.

Among the many heritage sites featured is Chancellor House, the downtown offices of Mandela and Tambo Attorneys in the 1950s. After having been vacant and shuttered for more than a decade, this iconic building is being revived and brought to life once again as offices for the Community Development Department, which oversees the City’s Arts, Culture & Heritage Services.
