A Unique Experience of African History
- The exhibition is an innovative response to the council’s “Smart City Strategy” by integrating museum collections and technology to showcase that museums and their collections are more than their space and narrative. However, the collection can be used for both interpretation and preservation through technology. The collection presents cultural continuity and is not trapped in time and space.
- The exhibition theme, therefore, is a representation of the many achievements through the African timeline (hence coined Maze) in politics and science with a grandstanding of impressive preservation of cultural heritage and identity. The exhibition is on a virtual platform and will use animation and videography to capture the following subthemes within the African landscape on different LED panels; Geomorphology; Archaeology; Ancient technologies & scientific inventions; Genesis of African Leaderships; Migration & Interconnectedness and Totemism.
- The exhibition theme was also deliberate by identifying the launch to be in the month of May known as Africa Month which celebrates the establishment of the OAU.
