FRANCIS LEBOHANG NTEBELE On 8 June 1976 security police officers came to arrest a student at Naledi High School, Enos Ngutshane, after he wrote to the Education Minister complaining about the enforced use of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction. Students resisted the arrest, and a police car was burnt. Police reinforcements opened fire, and students scaled the fence of Mara Primary School to escape. In the pandemonium, Francis Ntebele (18) was shot and killed, and many other students were injured.
