SADF Raid on Gaberone

SADF RAID ON GABERONE On 14 June 1985 special forces of the South African Army crossed into Botswana and raided ten houses. One belonged to George Phahle who had grown up here, and his wife Lindi. Living with them was his brother Livingston. Killed during the raid were George, Lindi and LindiÕs cousin, Joseph Malaza, a visitor. Mistaken as the third person living in the house, Joseph, instead of Livingston, was killed. Livingston never recovered from the trauma of knowing he was the intended target. He died in 2017 living in the streets of New York.
