YWCA On meeting members of influential Zenzele Clubs, an African-American resident of Dube Village, Madie Hall Xuma facilitated the affiliation of YWCA-SA to a non-racial World YWCA in 1995. Together with the first Transvaal Secretary Phyllis Mzaidume, her successor Ellen Kuzwayo and many other distinguished women, the leadership and collective power of women and girls was developed. In 1985 this building was erected on the site of the original by the Anglo American and De Beers ChairmanÕs Fund.
